This trend highlights a stronger external balance achieved through lower import demand rather than expanded export volumes.<\/p><p>Within this broader picture, agriculture stood out as a star performer.<\/p><p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.namc.co.za\/south-africas-agricultural-trade-performance-in-2024\/\"><u>WTO, UNCTAD, and ITC data<\/u><\/a>, agricultural exports set a new record in 2024, rising to US$13.7 billion, up 3.6% from 2023. The gains were driven by fruit harvests, wine production, and livestock recovery, reflecting resilience even in the face of drought pressures on grains.<\/p><p>Outside of agriculture, South Africa\u2019s export profile remained anchored in its traditional pillars, with highlights being minerals &amp; metals and automobiles.<\/p><p>The destination of these exports reveals the country\u2019s global and regional reach.<\/p><p>According to TradeInt data, South Africa\u2019s export destinations from June 2024 to 2025 highlight Asia and Western markets as key partners, with China alone accounting for over US$439 billion.
